It's a well-known fact that industrial industry workers face a dangerous set of circumstances while on the job. Unfortunately, it still comes as a shock when a workplace accident leads to the death of an employee. Recently, a Milwaukee, Wisconsin man was a victim to an industrial accident that cost him his life. The area of the plant the employee was located at the time of his death makes equipment for construction and mining.

According to news reports, the employee is still unidentified. The family of the deceased worker is in the process of being notified about the incident.

However, it has been confirmed that the workplace accident occurred in the weld shop area of the Caterpillar (CAT) plant in South Milwaukee. Reportedly, the accident victim was struck by a structure in the weld shop as it was being moved.

Naturally, emergency responders were dispatched to the plant -- but the injured employee was pronounced dead on the scene. Currently, officials for the plant are working with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) as investigations into the industrial accident are conducted.

The family of an employee who dies in a workplace accident is entitled to workers' compensation death benefits. Unfortunately, the process by which families claim these benefits is not always straightforward.
